Privacy at Instant Anagram

The word search is designed to run locally in your browser. This page explains the limited situations in which personal data may still be processed.

Controller and operator

Instant Anagram is operated by Fluidified, a business registered in Finland. Finnish business ID: 2900573-7. Privacy questions and rights requests can be sent to info@instantanagram.com.

Searches

Your search text is processed in your browser. It is not added to the URL or sent to Instant Anagram for server-side search processing, and the service does not store it in an account or search history. The application does not save the search text in localStorage, sessionStorage, IndexedDB or cookies; reloading the page clears it.

Search mode preference

When you choose Anagrams or Words from letters, Instant Anagram stores that choice in your browser's localStorage under the key instantanagram.searchMode so the same search mode can be restored when you return. The stored value is only exact or words. It does not contain your search text and is not sent to Instant Anagram for server-side search processing. You can remove the preference by clearing this site's browser storage.

Save-page tip preference

When you close the save-page tip, Instant Anagram stores only that dismissal state in your browser's localStorage under the key instantanagram.savePageHintDismissed. The stored value is 1. It does not contain your search text and is not sent to Instant Anagram for server-side search processing. You can show the tip again by clearing this site's browser storage.

Technical hosting data

The browser requests the site files and dictionary packages from hosting infrastructure provided through Cloudflare. To deliver, protect and troubleshoot the site, the provider may process ordinary network and HTTP metadata such as an IP address, requested URL, request time, browser or device headers, and security-related information. This technical data does not include the search text because the application does not put it in those requests.

Cloudflare Web Analytics and browser storage

Instant Anagram uses Cloudflare Web Analytics / Real User Measurements (RUM) to measure use of the site and its performance. The current RUM setting also applies to visitors in the EU and EEA; traffic from those regions is not excluded.

Cloudflare automatically injects a client-side RUM beacon into production pages at the hosting and edge layer, so the beacon does not necessarily appear in the repository’s HTML or JavaScript source. It collects page-use and performance metrics from the browser’s Performance API and sends them to Cloudflare.

According to Cloudflare’s current documentation, Web Analytics / RUM does not use cookies, localStorage, sessionStorage or IndexedDB and does not store RUM data in the browser. Cloudflare receives the source IP address with the RUM request as part of ordinary HTTP traffic, but says it discards the address at the nearest Cloudflare data centre and does not store it in RUM’s core databases or logs. Cloudflare also says Web Analytics does not track individual users across its customers’ sites and does not collect or use visitors’ personal data for Web Analytics.

This RUM-specific storage practice does not mean that Cloudflare could never use a strictly necessary technical cookie for its other hosting or security functions.

Email contacts

If you email us, we may process your email address, any name you provide, the message content and other information you choose to include. We use it to answer the message and carry out reasonable related follow-up. Technical email providers may take part in transmitting and storing messages.

Messages are kept only as long as needed for the contact and related follow-up, or longer when a legal obligation or a justified claim requires it.

Disclosure and international transfers

We do not sell personal data or disclose it for marketing. Hosting, security and email providers may process data on our behalf. Their technical delivery may involve processing outside the EU or EEA; the exact locations and safeguards depend on the provider’s current service arrangements.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, you may have the right to receive information about processing, access your data, correct or delete it, restrict processing, and object to processing. Send a request to info@instantanagram.com. You may also lodge a complaint with the competent data protection authority; in Finland this is the Office of the Data Protection Ombudsman.
